Thompson promised Jackson that it would not get raided as long as he promised to get people in his ward to vote for him in the upcoming election. Jackson had a famous gambling joint called The Dunbar Club. This was the case with Daniel McKee Jackson, who became one of Thompson's friends. This attitude drew powerful mobsters toward him, because they knew that if they kicked him back some cash for his election campaign, he'd make sure their rackets were protected when he got elected. However, his attitude toward prohibition, as well as other illegal pastimes, like gambling, was quite relaxed. Bill Thompson was, by all accounts, an extremely corrupt and self-serving mayor. One story that I thought was interesting was the relationship between Daniel McKee Jackson and Bill Thompson, the mayor of Chicago during most of the 20s. For the historical bosses, we wanted to use their real-life relationships in the game, or at the very least, parts of their personality that would work well in a mission - as is the case with Dean O'Banion and his fervent Catholicism.

There were a lot of real-world events that informed the missions. What real-world event inspired you when creating the missions?
